I love having this website. Even though it's hardly anything at all. I haven't bothered yet with PHP or anything like that, so there's no functionality, but I love having it anyway. I find a lot of interest in things created by people who have been on the internet for much longer than I have, long enough to remember the time before all things became as centralized as they are today. The obsolescence of forums and blogs seem obvious at this point, since signing onto a centralized platform is less effort, and for better reach if the platform has enough users. Given the current state of things, though, I can't help but think back on the things we might have lost, especially as our agency online.
I think I want to claim a more reciprocal relationship with technology in the midst of an unbelievable amount of extraction and plainly terrible things happening in the tech space. Especially when the internet basically comprises all of my familiar relationships, it feels very important to claim some space and autonomy. In the process of that, I get a fun place to make little projects, take inspiration, and learn a little. So, to that end; this blog. There most likely won't be anything terribly interesting here, but it'll be nice to know that it's here.
